Basic Kit
The Basic Kit is designed for learners who need to build confidence with PLC fundamentals, HMI interaction, control logic, inputs, outputs and practical automation behaviour.
Advanced Kit
The Advanced Kit gives learners exposure to a more complete automation system architecture, combining the Siemens S7-1200 PLC platform with an upgraded HMI and Siemens ET 200SP remote I/O.
Power & Setup
The standard Rising Edge kit is designed to be powered by an external approved power supply, similar in principle to a laptop-style adaptor. The adaptor converts mains outside the kit, so the training unit itself is supplied with low-voltage 24V DC.
This helps keep the learner-facing equipment cleaner and more controlled for classrooms, workshops, training rooms and desk-based practice. If your organisation requires or prefers an internal 230/240V power supply version, we can discuss that as a custom option for suitable environments.
Software Options
Rising Edge kits are hardware-first training platforms. To program the Siemens S7-1200 PLC long term, users will need access to official Siemens TIA Portal software. For most S7-1200 training use, STEP 7 Basic is usually the more suitable route rather than the full STEP 7 Professional package.
Best for users who already have access to TIA Portal, or want the lowest hardware entry point.
Home learners may be able to start with Siemens trial options where available, before committing to a full licence.
For customers who want everything arranged, an official Siemens software licence can be discussed as an optional add-on through an approved distributor.
